UNITED BANK OF AFRICA (UBA)
The bank required a continuous and reliable power supply to support its daily operations, which depend heavily on desktops, laptops, networking equipment, CCTV cameras, and other essential electrical systems. However, the unreliable grid supply meant that the bank had to depend heavily on its diesel generator to maintain operations. The generator consumed approximately 60 litres of diesel per day, resulting in a significant and recurring operational cost. To reduce the high cost of diesel consumption and dependence on the generator, while also minimizing reliance on the unreliable grid supply, a solar power solution was considered. A detailed load audit and energy consumption assessment were carried out using energy meter to determine its actual power requirements. Based on the findings, the solar system was designed to efficiently handle the identified loads, providing a reliable alternative power source while reducing the bank’s overall energy and generator operating costs.

The organization relied on an existing solar system alongside an alternative power source to support its daily operations, which included teaching, documentation, and other activities that required a reliable power supply. However, the existing solar system was not sufficient to handle the organization’s total electrical load, resulting in the need to ration power and operate only selected appliances. As the organization expanded its operations and required additional appliances to be powered, there was a need to increase the system capacity. A new solar system was therefore introduced to complement the existing system, with proper load separation between the two systems to enable more appliances and activities to operate efficiently

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
The church was a newly constructed facility that was still under development and had not yet been connected to the public electricity grid. As the building progressed, there was a need to establish a reliable power source that would support essential activities and electrical appliances within the facility upon completion. To provide a dependable and sustainable source of electricity from the outset, a solar power system was incorporated into the project during the construction stage. This approach allowed the church to have its own renewable power source in place as the facility became operational, reducing reliance on conventional electricity sources and supporting the long-term energy needs of the building.
